The Brief: The clients required a striking, high-end family home that captures the panoramic coastal views of the Donegal landscape while respecting local architectural roots. The design needed to maximize natural light through extensive glazing, provide sheltered outdoor living spaces protected from Atlantic winds, and maintain top-tier energy efficiency.
The Solution: We delivered a multi-volume contemporary home that seamlessly links a single-storey traditional stone-clad wing with a sharp, two-storey modern rendered block. Strategic corner glazing was integrated to frame the dramatic bay vistas and optimize solar gain. A large, seamless paved terrace wraps around the stone pavilion, creating a functional, protected outdoor zone. High-performance insulation and hidden detailing ensure the property meets strict modern thermal standards without compromising its minimalist aesthetic.
