The Brief: The client’s vision was to construct a premium, multi-level family home on a challenging, steeply sloped site overlooking the coastline. The project demanded a creative design that could seamlessly adapt to the difficult topography, protect private living zones from coastal winds, and incorporate massive glazed sections to frame the dramatic views while ensuring excellent thermal efficiency.
The Solution: We engineered a spectacular split-level contemporary residence that embraces the hillside layout. The structural base utilizes dark, textured stone cladding to firmly anchor the lower level, creating a striking contrast with the crisp white render of the upper interlocking volumes. To maximize the panoramic coastal views, we integrated floor-to-ceiling corner glazing and a commanding, deep-set structural terrace with a minimalist frameless glass balustrade. The clever multi-tier spatial arrangement ensures optimal solar gain and absolute visual privacy, delivering a luxury architectural statement that perfectly harmonizes with the rugged Donegal landscape.
